Switch TWRP -> Recovery-e after system partition wiped

Hello,

I am installing /e/ using TWRP on a Samsung S10e BUT…

as it turns out TWRP is not recommended anymore and indeed using it (this version of it at least) only gives an error when trying to adb sideload /e

The current recovery system does not seem to support dynamic partitions, please update.

I would like to try again using recovery-e but cannot go back on my tracks as I have wiped the system partition.

Could you let me know how I can either restore the stock OS or if it is possible to switch to recovery-e directly from TWRP.

Hello @Mayzk, Welcome to the /e/ users forum.

.

  • yes, when TWRP is already installed, using it is the easiest way to flash the “recovery-e”

.

Choose “install”

Choose “install image”

Navigate to your recovery-e.img

Choose “recovery” as target

.

Odin3 Windows or Odin4 Linux or Heimdall 2.2.2 are also efficient tools to flash the recovery-e on your device.

Mille merci @piero !!

I’ve got it working and have succesfully installed /e/os on my device.

For anyone else trying this, remember to hold the recovery keys after flashing as it does not boot in recovery mode automatically.

Even if you choose to reboot to recovery ?

No, I rebooted directly from the install menu after flashing the image if I remember correctly.
