I’m using murenacloud premium for a while. I don’t have any issue concerning the synchronisation from my phone (OnePlus 9 pro version 3.2-a14) by adding photos, videos or documents.
I’m facing 2 issues:
It is related when I delete something like a photo or video from my phone to murenacloud. It remains to the cloud.
And once I modify or create something (delete a photo or create a new file) in Murenacloud it is not updated to my phone
It’s fustrating to do manually the update without a both way synchronization.
deletions: this is the behaviour that is enacted currently at the code level - no propagation of deletes from either side. I repeated this so often it should really say so in the docs
creating a new file or changing a file remote side should eventually sync to the device after a polling interval (readme):
The synchronization is done on ACTION_SCREEN_OFF intent if the last sync is greater than 15 min. Otherwise a sync is scheduled each 30 min.
There’s no UI button afaik to force this to cut down on the 15min (the account sync setting slider won’t) - only a cli broadcast.
I guess things will improve on intervals when the apps make increasing use of murenas own push notfication mechanism. Mid 2026 I’d guess.
yes. If you’re heavily using files on nextcloud / murena it’s a good addon. It will live-query per webdav request what’s on the remote and you can select what you want to have offline - but it doesn’t have system level access, that is eDrives upside.
but in Mastodon murena claims to sync. So syncimg isn’t easy to use, because i have to delete permanently files or don’t use the space and it doesn’t correspond to productivity.
It was exactly what I was looking for. Working on one side (from phone to murena cloud) is good, but the strenght to have a synchronization in both ways and a must-have today.
yeah it’s not intuitive. There used to be deletions but it wasn’t robust. Currently there’s no gitlab issue that asks for proper 2-way sync that one could vote on to see attention, just lots of forum threads. This needs to be properly filed again, who’s doing it?
@jalmer - I think you should just feedback on that mastodon post then?
You could give 3rd party software a try: RoundSync, FolderSync($), RSAF+Tasker etc. Nextcloud client can do bi-directional sync optionally, but it syncs into its own app storage, not to system folders.
