Ticketmaster App

Hi,
Has anyone managed to successfully get the Ticketmaster app to work on e/os?

The app installs ok but when you try to authenticate it opens the default browser and then just sits there indefinately after clicking sign in

I think I tried TM and there was an issue. What I did as a work around was emailed the ticket. But now when I go to events I just get the ticket sent to “Will Call” (box office).

I despise TM for making stupid “Your phone is the Ticket”. Just saves them money and puts tracking on your phone. That is unless your phone runs eOS

We dont have will call in the uk unfortunately :frowning:

I have got the TM App to work on 2 Samsung S9’s in the UK.

Turn off fake location (I will assume the country your select in the app must match that of the phone).
Turn off Hide IP Address - this is the TOR network, and I find a some web sites will not serve you through TOR.

I have continued a discussion for trying to use the App within Shelter here:

Thanks for your reply. I wasn’t using fake geolocation or hide ip address but it still didn’t work for me.

Had to use an iPhone to get into the event in the end. Won’t be using Ticketmaster again if I can help it

On the other S9 that the app wouldn’t work on, the ticket was simply accessed through a browser, after logging into the ticket master account, once ticket is on your screen - no further signal is then needed - and in they went !

So you do not necessarily need the App, just a browser.

Do not refresh your page (or the app if your using it), doing so requires some form of re-pairing with the main Ticket Master server, which requires a signal.

It works similar to 2FA, this excellent page breaks the app apart:

You could maybe try going to Advanced Privacy, see if the Ticket master app is present .

I just installed and OH yes it is there with eight leaks, you could try toggling the trackers you want to allow until the app works (if it does). It may only need one or two of them. Then once you get it to work, use the app, then turn them back off. Not sure how much damage will be done but…

The trackers I see in the TM.ca app are: Adomerty, Google Analytics, Moneate, mParticleand usbla.net. At first Privacy control said there was eight tracker but I toggled “All Apps” and the number reduced to five?

If you figure out the needed tracker be sure to share. I do not know what happens if you allow the leaks if it dumps all the data they have been collecting (it could be the case) or only data at the moment?

Maybe some of the brighter minds on this forum can comment on the effect of allowing tracker, at least temporally.

Whether Ticketmaster or Eventim, problems under e/OS! They don’t work via VPN, they don’t work without a tracker and they refuse to work with secure browsers!

I have drawn my conclusions: I have canceled both my Ticketmaster and my Eventim account!

Yes Shakatus while I have not stopped using tickmaster all together, I certainly am attending less events.

I have used the ticket after I forwarded it to my e.email and it does scan to get in an event so it’s a bit of a work around.
