On my S5 (klte) with stock Android 6.0.1 I could not flash with the e-Recovery from e-2.7-t-20250112-UNOFFICIAL-klte-signed.zip via adb sideload

Ron, your signed /e/OS-T custom ROM has breathed a free European life into the Galaxy S5 (SM-G9006V) running stock Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) firmware from China. Thank you!

WOW this is outstanding work you’ve done, Ronnz98 !!!
I downloaded the ROM for my Galaxy S5 Active, and it’s truly amazing!
The only downside preventing me from using your ROM is that the SIM card is not recognized. I tried to update it, but unfortunately, it’s not compatible with the klteactivexxx model. I haven’t tested all the other features yet, but the ROM is incredibly smooth. It’s a real pleasure to navigate through Android 13 and to give our old phone a second life, saved from Samsung’s planned obsolescence.
PS: I removed the PIN code using another phone, and now the SIM card is working. I’ll be able to test it for a few days.
+1 for my S5 (klte)
Thanks @ronnz98
I made 2.7 now for all S5 device, please see above
Thank you so much for your update and all your hard work.
I’ll test your ROM this weekend.
Firstly, thank you for your trying to make this ROM happen.
It successfully installs from official /e/OS last recovery 2.2, and also from the latest TWRP after format and Wipe.
Then the system boots, but there is no option for the phone to be encrypted. It has this option visible, but when I click, it does nothing. Any chance for the next update to have this option?
My version is “klte”
I installed 2.7-t-20250112-UNOFFICIAL-klte
***Update,
Banking apps working (installed two of them).
App Lounge asks to refresh session or ignore, and not working. Installed Aurora Store and it works instead of App Lounge.
I have tested the custom ROM on my SM-G870F S5 Active for several days.
The custom ROM has several notable strengths: it is very responsive and fluid, with low battery consumption. Bluetooth, WiFi, camera, alarm, and location services all function well. Most impressively, it runs on Android 13, which is fantastic.
However, there are significant drawbacks. The SMS app crashes upon opening, the camera lacks a QR code reader, and banking apps do not work. The device needs to be recognized as a Pixel 5 for these apps to function properly, similar to how CrDroid works on Android 11.
Thank you, Ronnz98, for your incredible work on this ROM. I hope for one last update to address these issues.
Did you install the latest 2.7 version? In terms of SMS app, try another one if that works
Can you explain what you mean ? Why does a phone needs to impersonate for apps to run ?
When I log into a Google account with my S5 Active G870F running CrDroid, I receive a notification on my computer or another device indicating a new login, and the phone that appears is a Pixel 5. However, I don’t have a Pixel 5. Banking apps like Revolut work on it. Although it’s an old phone and very slow, it works.
