Web installer: which version will it install?

Just wanted to know if there is a quick way to check which version the web based install of e/os will install? As I ran into an issue previously.

Also would like to point out that the Install /e/OS on a Fairphone The Fairphone (Gen. 6) - “FP6” guide says that the Android Security patch level can be equal to your phone’s level, but I tried installing and it got stuck on the bootloader and i bricked my FP6. It is mentioned in example 2. There is also a small typo in that same sentence.

It says: “In this example, the /e/OS build has the same Security Patch level than the origin, so the anti-roll back protection will pass, and you will be able to install /e/OS with no issues.”

The word “than” should be “as”.

Also another text error (IMHO) it should be Android security update and not Android Security Level. As mentioned in the install guide

The phone does NOT have the “ Android Security Patch Level” as a menu item. It is called the “Android security update” underneath it shows a date. I know many of the advanced users use the acronym ASPL, but as a regular users (some might say “newby”) this is a bit confusing.

Matt

as i am following all topics on that subject, i am affraid that the answer could be NONE…

Thanks for the reply Piero

Why NONE one might ask?

IMHO: it should be the easiest way to install using this installer, and as the version you want to install is one of the must important parts of being able to successfully install the device with e/os, this should be part of of the web installer.

is this something to add @Manoj ?

because even well illustrated, the “web-installer” often don’t work…

I managed to “successfully” install E/os.. yet I ran into the security level issue. But the process went well (i ran in from a Brave browser on my mac)

Good question @Matt. For following readers, please, (on a Thursday midway through the 3.3 release cycle) what build_version_string did it install?
