What is /e/os lifecycle?

Hi!

I was looking for information regarding /e/os lifecycle. Just like Ubuntu is 5 years LTS and up to 10 years with ESM, or GrapheneOS offers basically the same support than android based, what is it about with /e/os?

I could not find a page explaining that…
Is it like GrapheneOS or are the security updates backported to older versions based on an android no more supported by Google?

Thanks for your answers

GOS goes in lockstep with what the vendor does: no more device firmware, device dropped.

Lineage and /e/ disregard when firmware support is dropped and continue to build framework updates.

Lineage does only one current major, /e/ does what framework version Google puts out ASBs for still.

That is A13-A15 (and A16, but there’s no /e/ relase for that yet). Exception for A12 store devices, see " A12 - /e/OS S - Support Ending" at Week 36, 2025: Development and Testing Updates

Aloha NV3,

https://murena.com/faq/

How many years will you support your phones with software updates?

We aim to support with at least 5 years of software updates and security patches.

I also saw this in the faq. However, what does this exactly mean? Will each device that Murena sells be supported for 5 years? What if I buy, for instance, a Murena Pixel 7 – Refurbished? Or the latest Fairphone? Will they both be supported for 5 years? And 5 years from what date? As a potential buyer I would like to know more details regarding to software updates.
