When installing app from Common Apps (Gplay) does the networking and notifications still route through MicroG?

Hello all! I snagged Home-Assistant from the OpenSource apps (F-Droid) and when I did so I noticed it said that location and notifications do not work with the F-Droid version due to dependency on Google Services.

My question is if I enable G Play via Anonymous and then install that Home-Assistant does it actually use MicroG or will it be using Google Services for location and notification?

I have a feeling it will use MicroG and/or something built into e/OS but I want to be sure before installing that version.

it’s not a “microg or google” but a “microg and google” for notifications (Googles “firebase” service). The location service is separate in microG (at least that one based on wifi/network tower location). More on microg here.
