3rd party+Bliss launcher compatibility issues

I’m using Nova Launcher instead of Bliss and it is a semi-known issue that Bliss is not all that great in combination with other launchers. The issue being that seemingly randomly bliss will crash and restart within a short time.
Now I have been using that setup for around two months and have noticed that it often occurs when using apps that rotate the screen, as in the app rotates the screen for you, instead of you rotating the device first and the phone then reacting.
An example would be most mobile games, or even pressing the fullscreen button on Youtube.
Has anybody else noticed this?

if you can manage to capture that moment in logcat the Bliss developer has something to start on

It has been happening for a while. I guess it’s considered low priority, too bad for us :man_shrugging:

Here’s the related issue on the tracker, with crash logs. I don’t think they investigated it yet.

Yes indeed, and on my tablet this ruined the battery!
Before Bliss 3 I got 5-6 days on a charge, with Bliss3 a day, as all cores run at 100% when a crash happened and I did not shut down or restarted system right away.

@make-nz : to clarify, your cpu stats originate with you using not the default launcher? do you see the same crashing stacktraces as the user in the gitlab issue?

@tcecyk the above screenshot is from Bliss running/crashing.
This tablet replaced my notebook, so I tent to not have any other computer nearby, for logcat.
By now the battery is dead and it will be some time before I can replace it.

I’ve been running Lynx launcher and have never had this issue (knock on wood)

On a tablet?
Do you use auto screen rotation?

Its on a phone.
No Auto rotate doesn’t work on home screen on my phone but it does within apps
