I’d like to share a bug with the advanced privacy App that I came across today. Has anybody else encountered this?
The App started spamming notifications in the notification center and in app (see Video). Swiping away the notification in the notification center didn’t do any good, since it would simply reappear
Temporary solution:
change timezone manually (see comments)
clear app storage (deletes all statistics)
NOTE: the issue returns after restarting the phone
What didn’t work:
Force stopping and restarting the App
Restarting the Phone
Clearing Cash only
Deactivating and reactivating “APP TRACKERS” in the app
Happening to me, too, on SM-G960F running 3.1.4-s-20250915526531-official-starlte. Could be some poor handling of the summer-to-winter time change overnight?
For info: go to Apps, then “Show system” top right in order to see Advanced Privacy. From there, you can Clear storage and Clear cache which the poster says resolves the issue.
Plesse excuse me if this is the wrong channel, I’m new here.
Since today I have encountered a very annoying bug that seemingly impacts performance and I can’t solve it:
From the advanced privacy setting you get a weekly report. Usually that works just fine. Today, however, it refreshes the notification within 0.01s and places a new one on top of it. I can’t interact with it. I turned off the notifications but when I head to settings into the advanced privacy tab and then to trackers. The problem persists. It just adds text of trackers in miliseconds over the next one. I also have the feeling that it slows the phone down. I attached a screenshot. Thanks for your help!
Advanced Privacy just went berserk on my device, spraying notifications cycling endlessly through messages like “New Spy in Town” etc. I tried to stop it by stopping the app from running, but it keeps coming back. Does anyone know whats happening?
For the issue Pl can you try this go to Apps, then “Show system” top right >> Advanced Privacy. From there, >> Clear storage and Clear cache and then check
This would reset the app but if the current setting are causing an issue then better to start from a clean slate.
This could be an issue, although the notification only started to sync over KDE Connect (the way I first saw the issue) around now, which is a lot later than the switch to standard time.
Deactivating the weekly report in the notification settings helps temporarily. I can also confirm that above workaround changing the timezone manually just for a few minutes solved it. For how long I do not know yet.
