I’m trying to change photos on my favorite contacts. However, when I select desired photo, there is no “ok” or “save” button. Just option to crop/position selected photo. So, you are left with backing out and stuck with no photo or something you have to load in cloud or on other device where contacts are stored. Any advice?
Does your contact app has permissions for editing contacts?
Settings - Apps
Then show all apps and take a look at “Contacts”. There you will find “Permissions”. Contact permissions for contact app needs to be granted.
Die you cleared the cache of the contacts app? This can be done in the app menu where permissions are set. Or even wipe all cache with “Cache Cleaner” App?
Does this behaviour occur when selecting a picture out of storage AND when taking a photo with the camera directly from contact editing?
Is this happening with murena address book only? Or is the same thing happening when saving contact in local addressbook?
I have cleared cache on the app and it did not make a difference. I installed “Cache Cleaner” app and did not feel comfortable with what the set-up instructions were having me do, so I never ran it.
This behavior occurs when selecting pictures out of storage and after taking a photo with camera.
I am only using the stock Murena address book with my Posteo.de email/address account. I tried installing a “local” address item and tested editing image and got same behavior.
For your information, this behavior is not limited to my contacts. I simply chose this isolated example to hopefully seek resolution. It also occurs with another app I installed form fdroid - AnyKeyBoard. With this app, the lack of a “save” button occurs when I try to restore AnyKeyBoard settings from backup up file (saved on my older phone from which recently migrated). AnyKeyBoard requires me to set custom path to navigate to backup file; when I navigate there to set path, there is no “save” or “ok” button.
Other information I will share that may or may not be relevant:
As mentioned originally, I have installed Fossify Launcher from fdroid - it is very buggy (but needed to run 2 of my apps).
I have only just started using this new phone (Fairphone 4) with Murena eOS.
Relative to the contacts, when I originally began using this phone, I wrongly assumed I needed DAVx5 to sync my contacts with Posteo.de as I did with my Google Pixel. I have since deleted this app (along with cache and storage data). Contacts sync’ing with my account now works perfectly fine in all other ways.
