Can't sync Tasks to Nextcloud account

I recently installed the official 3.1.1 build of /e/OS on my Pixel 7. Long story short, I cannot for the life of me get tasks to sync with the default Tasks app. If I install OpenTasks, which requires me to look it up on fDroid in the browser to get App Lounge to pull it up as looking it up in App Lounge leads to an infinitely loading dead link, and DAVx⁵ it works fine.

I tried following two different posts on the forum already and got nowhere. When I try this posts solution I just get a prompt telling me the login failed and I need to check my username and password, which was never asked for in the first place. I also tried the solution posted in this post and that fails by sitting and loading forever after the sign in prompt in browser finishes and I go back to the settings app. I’m at a total loss on what to even begin trying in order to troubleshoot the issue.

Edit: I tried adding it as WebDAV again but using an app password and it still fails.

only thing I can say after having played with different task apps: if you want default Tasks to sync, it seems you have to remove the other apps that handle task that you might have installed while checking things out. Haven’t understood why, but in that thread it got confirmed by another user.
