As there are so many threads already in which people complain that sync is not working, I thought it cannot hurt to open even another one .
The issue is not particularly different from this one or this one. In fact one can search for appropriate keywords and will get a whole bunch of similar issues, all relating to the same problem.
New is, that this problem still persists, even in the most recent version v3.0.2 of /e/OS, which is installed on my quite new Fairphone 6. To summarize what I did and experienced:
check the file browser on the phone => synchronization happened!
Goto step (3.). Recognize the same behaviour as outlined there and in the following steps.
I strongly guess this is a client problem. Synchronization between murena.io and other clients, using the nextcloud sync client, works flawlessly. This means on the other hand side, that synchronization to any other nextcloud server instance would also not work with /e/OS & eDrive.
As a side information, I use 2FA on murena.io and an app password.
I finally worked around the issue by entirely removing the murena.io account from my phone, as I donāt really need it. I do file and photo sync to my synology NAS, using the services and tools provided there (Synology Drive/Photos), which works like a charm. Itās a bit cumbersome to copy files to/from the local FP6 storage, though, and synology is proprietary⦠so I would really like to see sync between the phone and a nextcloud instance working. Then I might come back to murena.io and evtl. even subscribe to one of the paid plans.
The issues the linked threads of 2022 or 2024 go back to are fixed since long. Most eDrive āhardā errors not a few months old would need to be dismissed. As of many weeks after the outage, eDrive sync is functional - they just introduced a checkmark that disables sync remote-side to avoid file collisions / overwrites. You could suffer from that?

Nevertheless itās occurring for me in a very similar matter. Especially for Files. Now I readded my murena.io account in the phone, it started synchronization and included the music collection. Then complained about quota exhaustion (my music library is >20G), which forced me to uncheck the āImages and Videosā checkmark for the synchronization. Itās the checkmark that I could find closest to what I want to set⦠although I donāt know what is behind it. Music is not synchronized anymore as I want. Files are also not synchronized, but actually I want them to be synchronized.
Anyway, files seem not to be synchronized for any reason, be it that setting or not. However, sync is working for the Notes, which is good.

Thanks for the hint. My account at murena.io is just a few days old, as is my FP6. So I didnāt suffer from that outage. Nevertheless I checked this setting, it is activated.
that is the only switch that controls file-based sync unfortunately. If you turn that off, no further sync will occur.
Thereās no configurability to it as to what folder to sync (see docs), youād need another webdav capable syncing App to only pick specific folders (FolderSync ($), RoundSync, Nextcloud client itself - but the latter has other limitations).
Just wanted to chime in here to say that I have been having the same issue as of late. Documents and photos on my phone arenāt syncing correctly with Murena Workspace when they previously had been. Tasks and Notes seem to be syncing fine. I believe it started after July 26th for me, based on the last synced photos. Iāve been on /e/OS 3.0.4.
Just like OP, I am logged into my murena account on my phone using an app password as I have 2FA on my account. Iām fairly sure I did it properly given it worked previously, and that Tasks and Notes are still working.
For now, Iāve been using a WebDAV mount to access my Murena Workspace drive on my phone. But of course any photos Iāve taken since it stopped syncing wonāt appear in my Workspace like they had been.
My phone is a Pixel 8 I purchased directly from Murena earlier this year.
For me the problem seems to be related to the fact that SOME folders are not syncing anymore - in my case /DCIM/Camera for my FP3 under 3.0.4 for exsmple. To my knowledge, there is no way to check or modify which folders are synced - only possible to disable sync for certain type of content, and from my experience itās not working reliably, and thatās what is missing there.
and youāre sure itās not filename collisions from device to remote that aborts an upload?
Do you have backups at a 3rd place so youāre free to empty out the murena remote?
Iād empty out the /Photos folder murena side and reset storage+cache device side in the eDrive App settings. That should make it push everything in /DCIM/Camera again if authentication / the auth token isnāt an issue too where the account re-add solves things.
Beware of overwrites from older to newer files though from other folders than /DCIM/. Have backups.
Thanks for your reply. It seems back but with a bit of delay, and I donāt see any more the syn notification with amount of files to sync. I will keep monitoring.
