Hi,
As there are so many threads already in which people complain that sync is not working, I thought it cannot hurt to open even another one .
The issue is not particularly different from this one or this one. In fact one can search for appropriate keywords and will get a whole bunch of similar issues, all relating to the same problem.
New is, that this problem still persists, even in the most recent version v3.0.2 of /e/OS, which is installed on my quite new Fairphone 6. To summarize what I did and experienced:
- Create an account on murena.io
- Setup this account in the āAccountsā section in the system preferences on the phone
- create a file in the Documents folder of the phone => no sync to the murena.io cloud server
- create another file on the murena.io cloud server, using a browser
- check after quite some time on the phone => no sync from server to phone
- re-trigger synchronization by tipping on the account / Account synchronization / 3 dots / sync now => no sync from server to phone
- remove the murena.io account from the phone
- re-add the account to the phone
- check the file browser on the phone => synchronization happened!
- Goto step (3.). Recognize the same behaviour as outlined there and in the following steps.
I strongly guess this is a client problem. Synchronization between murena.io and other clients, using the nextcloud sync client, works flawlessly. This means on the other hand side, that synchronization to any other nextcloud server instance would also not work with /e/OS & eDrive.
As a side information, I use 2FA on murena.io and an app password.
I finally worked around the issue by entirely removing the murena.io account from my phone, as I donāt really need it. I do file and photo sync to my synology NAS, using the services and tools provided there (Synology Drive/Photos), which works like a charm. Itās a bit cumbersome to copy files to/from the local FP6 storage, though, and synology is proprietary⦠so I would really like to see sync between the phone and a nextcloud instance working. Then I might come back to murena.io and evtl. even subscribe to one of the paid plans.
