Fairphone 6 /e/ keeps rebooting

**hi,

I did something stupid on my Fairphone 6 /e/.

I am from Europe, but I am currently in Canada for a concert. Ticketmaster needed me to have Google Wallet to receive my ticket, so I installed Google Wallet without thinking too much about it and then that needed me to install Google Services which I couldn’t find and therefore installed Google Carrier Services as the next best thing.

however, since then my Fairphone keeps rebooting, sometimes with the note “Region set to US/Europe. Rebooting in 5s to load the corresponding configuration.”

I assume it’s being caused by Carrier Services, but I don’t know how to delete it off of my phone again.

help!**

I think PassWallet should work as a replacement, if you get the pass as a file.

Please can you go to

Settings > Apps > See all apps > Carrier Services > Uninstall.

If unsuccessful, ofc we don’t know where you installed it from but this is a link for Google Carrier services

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.ims. The link would be expected to open in App Lounge. It may depend how you installed it but you could check whether App Lounge will offer to uninstall.

It seems this issue is still active

Your error

Region set to US/Europe. Rebooting in 5s to load the corresponding configuration.

seems to point to this issue.

Difficult while travelling but perhaps you can use this method for on device capture of a log Capture a debug information from /e/OS.

In order to contribute to the issue this link includes the method to create an account in Gitlab Report an issue.

In any reply please add your full build_version_string.

Again difficult while travelling but you might experiment with avoiding apps using location to run in the background, even just “Close all running apps” when the phone is not in active use (??). More heavy duty search Settings for Location and experiment with shutting down Location based toggles (but keep notes in order to reinstate :slightly_smiling_face:)
