Murena are invested in their own Bliss launcher, it’s an important part of their /e/OS concept, for anybody giving feedback disliking it there’s anybody else giving feedback liking it, so it’s not very likely they’ll abandon it anytime soon just because there are other launchers out there any given user might like more.
Just install a different launcher of your choice .
Then install a more recent launcher of your choice .
There are topics discussing different launchers and their pros and cons in the forum.
You should Clear Storage / Data of the Updater as well.
Can you clarify, you downloaded the OTAPACKAGE and then did you attempt to make a “Local update” using that option from the top right 3 dot menu of the Updater?
And, just checking you downloaded official that is stable ROM and verified it with the checksum?
Edit, looking at your image, are you not running 2.4 already? What shows in Settings > About phone > Android version > /e/OS version?
The verification needs to happen before install.
It is quite odd to see a date of 1 Jan 1970 in your image!
I don’t understand, can you explain a bit more ?
I cleared the cache and data of the update manager, then refresh with the arrow in the top right corner, download everything again (with many stops but finally I reach 100%) and then apply the update, but it fail at the reboot saying the signature verification failed…
Vendor Name: Fairphone
Device name; Fairphone 3+
Device CodeName: FP 3+
Version of /e/OS or Stock which existed previously: 2.3
Is the device Rooted / Not rooted: bought from Murena in 2021
The new version has deleted all the passwords from the browser.
Yesterday I tried to update also our second device (FP3+, some days after our first one). It didn’t work. I wasn’t able to download the provided update at all. It didn’t even try it, it just did always say in half a second there was an error, I should check the network connection. The network connection is excellent, I can download whatever I want. I switched the network connection off and on, I cleared all the caches with CacheCleaner, I did also a reboot. Now it doesn’t even bring the update anymore. Great.
Codename: No idea - what is that, where do I find that info?
Previous e/os/: The previous stable version.
Device rooted?: Not so technically advanced, installed e/os/ myself, so probably not rooted.
Experiencing serious problems - I really need help urgently!!
Can’t send or receive mails through my Yahoo app! Can’t go through the Yahoo website, using Ecosia browser, because it connects me to my Yahoo app, which doesn’t work.
DuckDuckGo doesn’t work at all. When trying to open a tab it says, very rapidly something like “The internet connection appears to be offline” and then steadily “A server with the specific hostname could not be found”.
App Lounge doesn’t work as usual. I can start the app, but it doesn’t find any updates for the installed apps and it doesn’t perform any searches. A note comes up saying, direct translation from Swedish, “A wrong occurred when apps were read in/loaded. This could be caused by the server not answering or other server problems. Try again or try later.”
Aurora Store can’t connect to internet at all.
When using the phone it’s connecting over WiFi, which never happens when things work as usual.
So apparently something is not working as it should and me not being able to have access to sending and receiving mails through my Yahoo app is the biggest issue! Not being able to use DuckDuckGo is not as problematic, but would be good if possible soon!
Big problem of battery here (on Fairphone 4 too).
Battery is discharging very quickly (can’t have more than half a day of autonomy, vs around 1 day for previous version 2.x and around 2 days for e/OS/ v1)
Hope it can be fixed quickly, it’s really becoming hard to use my phone while having to charge it every midday and evening. And charge is also now very slow (since v2.4), I don’t know why.
I’ve noticed an issue:
The increased refresh rate (90Hz) on the FP5 is working incorrectly, until I disable and enable Smooth Display. The developer option shows that it thinks it’s always rendering at 90Hz, even though it feels more like 45Hz.
I’ve also updated another device:
Vendor Name: OnePlus
Device Name: 6T
Code Name: fajita
Version of /e/OS which existed: 2.3-t
Current Version of /e/OS: 2.4-t
Device Rooted: Yes
If you use it, take a look at the Advanced Privacy feature called “mask my IP”: is it enabled? In my case, sometimes, it turns to error when I reboot my FP4 when WiFi and mobile data are off. In that situation, some apps don’t work.
Based on these responses I decided I want to finally start upgrading off of V2.0 but unable to. The download towards V2.1 keeps failing… rebooting didn’t help either.
I copied the url and tried it on my desktop, and it’s dead…
