1x clean install from scratch (manually), encountered pitfalls:

  • /e/OS reported 32 GB storage after the install, device has 64 GB.
    Solution: Factory reset. (Thanks, memory.)
    Note to self: Do check this immediately after a new install, do not get prompted because of low storage while downloading offline maps after almost everything else is set up!

  • Because I needed to factory reset, I used the opportunity to test Seedvault.
    Note to self: Don’t bother, it made a proper mess of things. Correlation of Apps to the store which installed them is a mess after restore, Android settings are a mess after restore (some are restored, some not, so everything needs to be checked anyway), user data restore failed completely (was marked beta or experimental anyway, possibly?). Right now not worth the few clicks it saves.

  • MyPhoneExplorer couldn’t restore SMS to the phone anymore, because circumventing Google’s current forbiddance to do it this way by using the old MPE Client version 1.0.48 didn’t work anymore with Android 15.
    Solution: SMS Import / Export from F-Droid works.

1x no issue with updating.

Now 2x on 3.2-a15-20251025540112-community-FP3.

    • Settings - System - microG - Location - Wi-Fi location - Remember from GPS: enabled
    • Settings - System - microG - Location - Mobile network location - Request from online service: enabled
    • Settings - System - microG - Location - Mobile network location - Remember from GPS: enabled
    • Settings - System - microG - Location - Location server - Use /e/OS’s location system: enabled
    • Settings - Advanced Privacy - Geolocation: Exposed
    • Settings - Advanced Privacy - Geolocation - Use my real location
    • Settings - Location - Use assisted GPS: enabled
    • Settings - Location - Location Services - Wi-Fi scanning: enabled

    Luckily I don’t need it that badly.
