The documentation is out dated I think, since recently the device has IMG-files, then it works differently.

there is no mention to fastboot flashing unlock_critical step in the Lineage instructions for this device,
there is no mention to fastboot flashing unlock_critical step in the /e/ instructions for others pixel devices,

so, are you sure fastboot flashing unlock_critical then fastboot flashing lock_critical steps are needed, for this device ?

also there is no link to avb custom key in the /e/ instructions for this device

Thank you for your reply.
Is there any risk in using the phone with the bootloader unlocked?
Will it be fully operational for sensitive applications (banking, insurance, etc.)?

I will wait for the installation guide for Pixel 7 to be updated before using it.

We’ve flashed a Pixel 7 at a flash-party this week-end, that was running Android 16, even if the doc said that it should be running Android 15.

But, we read a positive feedback of flashing /e/OS over Android 16 on a Pixel 6: Pixel 6 Android 16 - #3 by Heiner08 , so we took the risk, and it worked fine.

I’ve created PR https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/documentation/user/-/merge_requests/1448 to modify the doc accordingly, so that the expected version will be “Android 15/16” instead of “Android 15”
