Google play services have dissappeared

Has anyone else recently had problems with Google Play Services? I had /e/OS 3.5 last week, and now 3.6, and I have the issue that Google Maps no longer works. It says that Google Play Services is too old and needs to be updated.

When I try to update Play Services I get this error:

Update Error!
The update cannot be performed because the software signature of the update for microG services does not match the version installed on your phone. To fix this, you can uninstall microG services and reinstall them from the App Lounge. Note: This message will not be shown again.
Google Play services is used to keep core functions such as authentication for your Google services in sync and to update apps.

I can’t remove and reinstall microG. I did clear the cache and storage and restarted, but that doesn’t work.

Anyone have an idea?

This seems a duplicate of an adjacent forum post Cannot update Google Play Services since e/OS 3.6.

Please do not attempt to remove and reinstall microG – it is a System app that other things depend on.
