Hi there Simon… from another Simon
You could just use the Android developer tools and the terminal to install on all phones; there’s no need for EASY Installer
I’m using a laptop with Zorin (also Ubuntu-based) to install on all phones now; you could use any Linux and you don’t have to mess with drivers like you should on Windows.
On the devices supported by the Easy Installer the stable builds are also available for manual install, as the Easy Installer just semi-automates the manual install process.
(And I checked stable builds are indeed downloadable for all of them currently.)
Thanks for the info. Last time when I installed on a S9+ there were no stable builds available for download.
On re-checking now there is a link below to the stable builds…
Anyway I want the latest and greatest so the stable would not have been used anyway, but it’s good to know it’s available.
I’ll correct my post to not include false information…
I just found two missing links to existing download pages, see above, so most probably just the link to the download page was missing, afterall the Easy Installer has to download the builds to install from somewhere.
Hi MaMaTT88,
I’m not sure, but it seems that this feature only became possible with Android13 and the developers have now implemented it.
My device is an FP3 (+) with 1.19.1-t-dev.
Best Regards
Hi,
my wish for the /e/ OS would be:
implementing an option to limit the recharging (i.e. to 85% of the battery capacity) in order to extend battery life. This option is already available on standard Android OS (I saw it on the Samsung device ‘Galaxy A32 5G’). So hopefully you will add this option soon. Actually I waited for that you would implement such an option after a while and expected it kind of. I bought an Fairphone 4 with /e / OS also because of ecological reasons. It would be very nice to have a longer battery life. Besides that I don’t have any complaints. The FP4 and /e/ OS work great! Thanks for developing and publishing the OS and thanks for your efforts in degoogling! Cheers
Edit: I am using the actual version
1.20-s-20240220382012-stable-FP4
https://spot.murena.io is not a relevant, well-known, successful search engine provider. The current standard search engine in the e-browser delivers very unsatisfactory results! Cobbler, stick to your last!
The first search engine mentioned here is a searx instance in Switzerland. Switzerland has very strong data protection rights. Depending on the country selection, a different searx instance could be chosen here: https://searx.space/
Yes, that’s always said. But Switzerland has also a long tradition in mass surveillance (since 2006, if I remember well). Switzerland has been a European pioneer in data retention for future reference and does this without interruption still today. And you will never know for what. Nobody talks about this.
