Hello everyone,

I’m currently on version 1.5-20221031230909, and I wanted to update to a newer version. However, when I check the settings, no new updates are shown as available.

I recall seeing updates about 1–2 years ago, but now they seem to have disappeared. After reviewing some discussions here, it seems a few others have encountered similar issues, albeit on different devices. From what I gather, the solution might be to manually install the latest version.

Since I’m not very tech-savvy and it has been quite a while since I first installed e/OS on my phone, I would greatly appreciate your help with the manual update process.

Specifically, I’d like guidance on: Where can I find the latest version to download and how do I choose the correct file for my device? Do I then boot my phone in recovery mode and install the downloaded file from my phone?

Many thanks in advance!

Hello Alex8 !

Right now, you cant, because, due to the outage, all previous buid where deleted from the servers and still have to be build again, as soon as the team find time to deal with this workload.

you will have to find

OK, no, the S9 is not a legacy device, so through the smartphone selector you can find this download page

You should read again the manual method. You can find it within the S9 line, in the selector.

Hi @Alex8, welcome to this forum.

@Didou, This topic is about dev/community branch…
e-1.5-q-20221031230909-dev-starlte

So,
https://images.ecloud.global/dev/starlte/

ÉDIT : allways make backup of current state, or at least your precious things…

thank you very much for the prompt replies!

So If I undestandt correctly I need to download the dev version .zip file (e-2.5-t-20241110446839-community-starlte.zip) not the .img? is this correct?

If you want to first flash the new “recovery-e.img” prior to “e.zip” it is not forbiden, but from my point of view, not mandatory…

To be sure,
what is the stock “baseband” version currently installed ?
(in → settings → about the phone → under “android version 10”)

Something like

The baseband version is: G960FXXUHFVB4

Does this affect the installation of the update, do I have to pay attention to anything? Many thanks for your help

As the 2 latest Samsung firmware version G960FXXUHFVG4 and G960FXXUHFVB4 use the same baseband version G960FXXUHFVB4, my question was not the good one to determine if you have latest firmware installed as a base…

Can you see a version number on the “download mode” screen ?

Sry I don’t quite understand what you mean. In settings, about the phone, android version I found this, as my Baseband Version: G960FXXUHFVB4

What download mode screen do you mean?

Not precisely because :

5f476ae93de7cb035a439e43db5d424f9651064e

Unfortunately I did not find my baseband version in the download mode screen

Is the baseband version labeled differently in download mode? For what do I have to look for?

Excuse me for being so nitpicky, you’re certainly on the latest version from July 2022 (G), and not the one from fabruary 2022 (B).

Have a go ! …

I went into recovery mode and installed the update. There didn’t seem to be a problem and I didn’t get an errors.

I rebooted the device and now my phone has been stuck in the e loading screen for over 10 minutes… What is the best way to proceed now?

The only thing I can do now is rebooting and going into recovery mode. I would be very grateful for any information on how I can fix this issue

Aie…
What is your actual recovery ? TWRP or recovery-e ?

When I press the button combination to enter recovery mode the e recovery appears

I am bad to formulate questions, i meant : what recovery did you used ?

Q is very old compared to T

.

Try to wipe /cache only and reboot system,
if not better, try to reflash the e-2.5-t build using the new recovery-e.

.

If not better and you didn’t previously made backup, try to reflash the old e-1.5-q version using TWRP (could be in /data/lineageos_updates folder)

when I first installed e os I used TWRP.

I am very thankful for all your help but since I´m not very tech-savy I´m a bit lost here.
What does Q or T mean?

How do I wipe /cache?

and if this does not work I install TWRP and try to install the e-2.5-t-20241110446839-community-starlte.zip with TWRP?

I know its annoying writing down in detail all the necassary steps and explaining everything, but trust me messing up your phone and not being able to use it anymore is alot more annoying

It is nomore possible in the last recovery version

Q and T are android version

No, with the recovery-e as TWRP fails…

Then, if it still don’t works, i propose to go back to your old e-1.5-q-20221031230909-dev-starlte, (if you didn’t previously made backup) you could be abble to save your needed things, for that, in your situation, you will need TWRP…

In any case, you can get your e-2.5-t working by performing a factory-reset but this will lead to losing your data

but I Installed the e-2.5-t-20241110446839-community-starlte.zip with recovery-e and not with TWRP. The install went without errors, but my phone is still stuck in the e boot screen.

Ok, I think I want to go back to my old e-1.5 Version, if this means I get to keep my data. Are there any guides on how to restore the old OS Version with TWRP as I have no idea do it myself.
