Hi everyone,
I’m facing a super boring problem, and searching for help…
I was reluctant to update to 2.7 because of the problems on all services, apps and shop from murena in the last 3-4 months
I’ve started the update yesterday on my Galaxy S8. It went well. I’ve cleaned cache with “LTE Cleaner” and “Cache cleaner” apps (Cache Cleaner | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository)
That’s all i’ve done…
My phone is unable to connect to the phone network now
My SIM is working perfectly in another phone
When i go to Settings → network → SIMs
it give the name of my provider (Orange F)
When i go to “Access Point Names” there is nothing in the list
I’ve tried to add any APN confguration found on the web, and reboot directly after or not, nothing appears anyway in the APN list. It’s written “access point name settings are not available for this user” (I have no other user than the “owner” user)
I’ve tried to clean parameters from the APN page “reset to default”
I’ve tried to restore network settings to default from “Settings → System → Reset Options” then “reset wifi, mobile & bluetooth”, “reset app preferences” and “erase downloaded SIMs” and nothing works at all…
There are only two times, for some minutes, where my GSM / 4G network was connected, randomly, and I have no idea why
I would add that you need to have a good Wi-Fi connection at the time, as I believe the APN will be checked as you Save it (and may be lost if it fails to connect). You have to be very accurate that every line is an exact match with that published by your carrier.
However the APN list on your phone should be populated by the /e/OS ROM from this list apns-conf.xml
Here are the only two lines I see searching for Orange F
It would be a very serious issue if an update / upgrade wiped this file from your phone, the file is part of system it could not be wiped by Cache Cleaner.
I’ve found a solution a few days later, and the problem is still on :
I have to unplug and replug the SIM card while the phone is on
if the phone stays on, the problem don’t occur again
if my battery runs out and the phone switches off, I have to do it again
and that’s the only solution. No other config protocol worked
