Could we please have an option to turn off app update notifications? I like keeping my apps on auto-update, but they seem to update so frequently that I’ve ended up turning off auto-updates altogether just to avoid the constant notifications.
Alternatively, maybe give these notifications their own volume or priority setting—just something to make them less disruptive.
In Settings > Notifications > App notifications > App Lounge I have all notifications turned off except “Allow notification dot”. I get no intrusive sounds.

The OP seemed about the disturbance from sounds. If the device has been modified by any update, I expect to be notified and see the change in Notification history so yes, swipe to acknowledge.
As a busy person with lots of apps, I too would like to turn off notifications for app updates. Life’s too busy for extra notifications that add to the cognitive noise level. I don’t necessarily hear an audible ping (maybe because I usually have the phone set to vibrate-only mode) but they’re still there in my face demanding to be looked at. Whereas someone with only two apps might like to read about one major update a year, it’s different with 25+ apps and nowadays more and more frequent tiny updates. Then it’s just noise.
I use open-source s/w partly in order to be in control of it. When it takes away my control by blocking an option unless I recompile it, that’s frustrating, that’s not what I came for.
I also like simplicity, so don’t want an option for everything. In fact I would rather the update notifications, and the options for controlling them, be simplified, rather than just enabling an option.
