RCS messaging app and microG

Hi,
because SIGNAL messenger is stopping SMS support soon I am looking for an additional messaging app that is using RCS services. As I see it all RCS apps requires GSF. So I wonder if they do run with microG instead of GSF.
Any recommendation if this is possible and which app to use?

I have also looked into this and it seems that only Google Messages and Samsung Messages support this

while there are open implementations to base an messenger App on, none is actively developed since years

Receive RCS from Android users

Reading around RCS seems to need a component /e/ is not shipped with, namely “carrier services”, a non-aosp google library. There’s some talk on qksms, the /e/ messages app discussing ways to integrate, but the one linked open implementation seems not to be actively developed anymore
