Samsung S9 Not supported

Hello,
I bought a samsung S9, because it says that it is supported by the EasyInstaller. But I just tried to install eOS on it and the EasyInstaller tells my that the phone is not supported. Am I doing something wrong or can I not use this phone?
Many thanks,
Nico

Hi @Nico1, welcome to this forum.

Are you sure your phone model is the international SM-G960F (exynos chipset) ?
USA specific models (qualcomm chipset) SM-G960U and SM-G960U1 are not supported by custom OS.

Hi Piero,

thanks for your reply. I don’t know. I bought it on amazon.de. So you are saying that I might not be able to put eOS on this phone at all, or just not the EasyInstaller?
Regards,
Nico

Yes it is the phone is SM-G960U.

So no chance to install /e/ or any other alternative android OS, as the bootloader cannot be unlocked on those models.

You may try to return it to the sellers as it don’t fits your needs (exchange for a SM-G960F or refound)

yes, I will try that. Thank you!

I now got a new phone and it says SM-G960FD on the package. Before I open it, would anyone be able to confirm that this one is compatible?

Thanks!
Nico

Your device codename must be (starlte)

I think SM-G960FD is one of the (starlte)

Ok thanks. I think it should be fine. The only think that irritates me is the D.

“D” is probably for DualSIM …

Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy S9 - “starlte”
