Service Outage Announcement: 7 Oct 2024

no misunderstanding, as I outlined in my post there are 2 distinct things:

  1. the https://backup.murena.io/ … link to download a zip
    and
  2. a MurenaRecovery folder that is set to appear in the File app

My reading of

Your recovered data will be placed in a folder named MurenaRecovery in the Files entry. Please note this folder is not yet available

Source: Backup my files after the Murena Workspace outage

is that this is still in the future (… or at least I had not been expecting to see it just yet).

Question regarding missing notes from notes app: I see people are referring to an recovery e-mail from January, don’t think I’ve gotten that. Also the recovery folder have not appeared yet. But I have received a QuickNote.zip in my files containing the 2 files keywordsnc and recentnc, both 11B in size (empty). May someone tell me if this is normal ,and if I can expect the missing files (Notes) to appear in some form soon? I’m in no hurry, but I’m a little concerned because I don’t see anybody else here mentioning the empty QuickNote.zip. So is this normal? I don’t need an explanation, just an confirmation that everything is OK and that my missing notes will appear after some time. Edit: I’m just using everything via web browser, no local install, except maybe Nextcloud notes that is un-used/empty.

I haven’t received any mail. How to investigate if there’s a folder “MurenaRecovery” waiting for me?

Reg the question some users have of MurenaRecovery folder.

  • It has not been enabled as yet. We will enable it ASAP and update on this thread.
    Notes app sync
  • Notes app sync will be possible with the upcoming v2.9 release which should happen this week.

It has been almost 6 months since the ‘outage’ and files still haven’t been restored LOL

on a serious note, there should be a notice of some kind. At least warn new users not to use this / e services for any important data until the project matures and appropriate mitigators are in place

Something like a banner, with a link?

I can access murena.io with my credentials, but the directory is empty. There are no files, no backup. Are they lost, or will they be restored someday. When?

If you can DM me your email ID I can have the team send you the link again.

Hello, I have registered for murena.io for the first time today. I have received and confirmed the link in my recovery email.
I cannot log in. Password or user incorrect.
My password is 25 characters long with special characters and capital letters.
What could be the problem?

Can you try and reset the password and then try again.

Hi Manoj.
My cloud files don’t synchronize with my mobile files.
Is there anything I do wrong?
The same for Notes.

Please help me.

Wubbe.

Regarding Notes Cloud Sync:

The feature has been released along with v2.9

- Before proceeding ensure you have taken a backup of the notes you have on your device.

On your cloud you would need to enable a toggle.

  • Murena Cloud Dashboard >> Tap or click on your Profile ( top right corner ) >> In the menu that would open up, Click on Settings >> In the left side menu select Client Synchronization
    image

  • In the screen that opens up , enable the checkbox as shown below.

  • Come out of your dashboard.
  • The sync with notes app should happen both ways now. From Device to cloud and from cloud to device.

Again repeating ensure you have taken a backup of the notes you have on your device as this sync can delete notes existing on your device.

Hello.
My murena ID starts with “j”, but I have received no recovery e-mail yet.
Is it normal ? If so, when can I expect it ?
(honestly, after 6 months, I just want the cloud sync feature through NextCloud back ; I don’t use eCloud ; and I actually don’t care about my server-side 6-month old files … so if you can simply reset my cloud storage without restoring these old files, and drop the old backup if any, I’d be happy to start again from scratch with my own backed up and updated since then files ).
Thanks.

DM Manoj directly with userid, he can check

Hello,

" - Before proceeding ensure you have… "

Before proceeding to what ?
Update to 2.9 or re-enabling client synchronization on Murena cloud dashboard ?

If the latter, will 2.9 allow to export (then import) all the notes in one shot ?

PLA

Notes v3.7.4 has this ability. Notes as .md files are exported to internal_storage/Notes/

Notes app > Settings > scroll to foot of screen.

Thank you, I did’nt expect that in the settings !
For importing, I guess it will be OK to transfert the exported .md files to the cloud ( All Files > Notes ).
