I just came to /e/OS on a Fairphone6 yesterday and finished the “move” from my old S10e.
Almost everything works, with the exception of TWINT app, which after a number of steps into the first setup throws up an error screen - basically “Error has ocurred, try later” - which lands me back in the setup screen. This is the TWINT app from St. Galler Kantonalbank.
I have tried yesterday and today, so I don’t think it’s a temporal outage issue with the bank. Additionally the corresponding banking app works, throwing up a warning of a “Detected Security Risk” at it start, which I have to acknowledge.
So, I am going to call them next week during their business hours, but I wonder if someone, presumably from Switzerland using TWINT has any *current* information.
Fairphone 6 with /e/OS 3.7.3-a15-20260506618655-official-FP6
Recently I faced a similar error message while trying to register the UBS Access app with FP6 /e/OS V4.0. It reported a network error and asked to try later. I switched of WLAN and got it work with mobile data connection (with advanced privacy acticated).
thanks for the quick answer. I tried the “wlan off” approach, but that did not work either.
The banking app list contains my St.Galler Kantonalbank TWINT with a “works” comment, so yeah….
I wonder if the problem is with the associated phone to the TWINT “card”. There only my old phone is listed, but that may be because I am not able to complete the first setup.
I can see in the ebanking app that both the old and the new phone are listed, and the correct phone is selected when I use the app on one of the two phones.
About the update to 4.0: I am hesitating as I don’t (yet) understand if the current eOS version is specifically created for the FP6 (the version sugest that) but the offeres upgrade to 4.0 has just the generic version text. So I am not sure if the 4.0 is suitable for my FP6. Total eOS newbie here
When you check the Settings > System updater and an update shows available then the offer will have come Over The Air to the specific device with specific information. It is then up to the user to accept. When no offer shows there is a Refresh button.
No, you’re right: If I copy the link, and copy it in the web browser, it points to “…e-4.0.-a15…official-FP6.zip” So it seems all right. I’ll see if I do the update in the next days, I have to get some usage experience on /e/OS before.
I really just offered the link to read. Please do not download it though, it is the Install image (designated by leading IMG- and totally unsuitable for an update. (Sorry off topic.)
Many quite wisely choose not to update till they have read the relevant build-feedback thread to see how it goes for early adopters.
Coming back to the initial issue with the TWINT App of the St. Galler Kantonalbank: I have talked to their support and indeed, there had been server side problems last weekend when I tried to activate the app on /e/OS. Now we ran again the setup process, and it worked flawlessly. So I can confirm, that this TWINT app works on /e/OS 3.7.3-a15 and the list of supported apps is correct for this specific case.
