I consider upgrading my Tablet T813 from official last version 0.23-p to this unofficial one here 1.16-r and have a couple of questions:
-Are there any drawbacks?
-Is it true, that the fingerprint sensor does not work anymore in the new version?
-What are the differences between official and unofficial builds?
-Is the install procedure the same?

Well, you have the choice between an outdated version like 0.23p and a newer one.
The builds might not be tested (in this case its tested since I own a T813). I do not offer support and might quit building in the future. maybe someone agrees then to take over…

Yes, since R the fingerprint does not work anymore
-What are the differences between official and unofficial builds?
Official builds are by eFoundation and the unofficial build by community members like me
-Is the install procedure the same?
Yes
Made a short test, indeed it crashed fast while typing an URL in browser Mull. Max. auto brightness seems not to be the problem but indeed Live Display/Auto outdoor something
I also confirm that any Android 11 Rom has at least 2 problems ( T-813 ):
Crash/reboot From time to time sometimes for any action
Most of the time Not possible to use the camera with another application like firefox which is kind of a blocker one for me. Firefox cannot use the camera to scan the barcode for sync
are you using both the T813? I have both, but use the T810 more often. At least the T810 is very stable for me. Camera is working well also QR code scanner. I do not use Firefox myself for barcode scan for sync so I cannot test
Absolutely the same for me – writing this post on it – and it has become my replacement for almost everything! Not a single day I’m not using it.
There is one thing which may be age and increasing usage, the battery charging has become a bit flaky.
Often, it says charging… but stays on 5-9 % for many hours, unplugging and plunging in again, when turned of, it works. And sometimes it works, while I’m using it… it’s a bit random.
And, as I’m typing, yeah I’m missing the Samsung keyboard!
Yes I have 3 T813 , tried a lot of roms R and Q , all can work for days and become in a state to crash and reboot every few minutes for any random actions
I thought it could because of the battery but I don’t think so
My client always have but not me in the lab so difficult to track
