Where do /e/ App Store applications come from

Brand new /e/ user on OnePlus6 here.

Thanks a LOT for your efforts and your work on this OS. In several days I plan to make a donation if /e/ OS turns out to be usable in my daily life :slight_smile:

Here is my first concern and sorry if the question has been asked before.

Where do /e/ App Store applications come from?
How can I be sure they have not been modified prior to being uploaded to the /e/ App Store.

Iā€™m thinking particularly about bank apps or password managers which are pretty sensitive apps.
