First set of devices which have received the A15 build

This is the first set of devices for which we have released the A15 or Android V builds.

As you may be aware we had released two lists which had more device names existing and new, that we were planning to introduce on A15

Due to certain upstream changes, that came in at the last moment, the builds for the remaining devices failed. We will release them along with v3.1, which should come out towards the end of this month or early August.

  • You can download the builds from our documentation site

  • All the builds released require manual download and installation.

  • We will work on getting the OTA builds out for official builds.

If you mean the next builds for these devices, that will be OTA for all the A15 devices in this list.

If you mean the A13 >> A15 OS OTA upgrade for official devices, I repeat my standard response, we will plan for those upgrades :slight_smile:

The OTA OS upgrades requires some complicated development work. The team has to check for seamless upgrades with zero data loss. This is tough and takes time. Will share details on this forum as to when we are ready to OTA OS upgrade specific devices.

… and to put it another way for community builds. OTA update will update /e/OS version but never Android version. community build users will have to perform a manual upgrade to change to a higher Android version.

Not sure that’s true. I already updated android version through an OTA twice.

Thanks for your answer, yes I mean A13 to A15. I hear your standard response and I am not expecting a date to be set in stone. I would be interested to know if it’s something that can be expected for 2025 or later. Depending of the answer I might consider using community build.

New to /e/ OS, I have a Moto G100/edge S (nio) and I’ll be happy to test once it becomes available.

i see incoherence here between the title and the fastboot command :

I can be wrong, but I think it shoud be :

  1. temporary boot a recovery image onto your device
fastboot boot recoveryfilename.img

Otherwise title must be changed to :

Flash a custom recovery using fastboot
