I want my bootloader to be relocked on the Google Pixel 8 Pro as only the pro version has UWB as a hardware feature. I also have the Google Pixel 8, that can be relocked but misses the necessary hardware.
At the moment I am on the Community Edition “husky” with the Pixel 8 Pro.
It is not on the official list of devices that can be relocked.
It is also not on the official list of devices that cannot be relocked (same link)
In this post@tcecyk asks me to check if I can relock it safely.
In this post the Pixel 9 [sic!] series is mentioned as “will be added”. Will there be a relockable build for the Pro version?
Will there be an official build for the Pixel 8 Pro or the 9 Pro in the near future?
How can I check if my community build husky can be relocked safely today?
Anyone already relocked a Pixel 8 Pro on the community edition?
HI… you werd able to install e/os on your pixel pro 8? I have difficulties with the web installer. Tried it with android 16, downgraded to 15. Still the web installer will not install on the device.
Yes @DLH
I could install e/OS flawlessly on my Google Pixel 8 Pro. Still works without bugs for me.
You must make sure to have the right Android version on it. As e/OS is always a bit behind the original it might well be that your Pixel 8 Pro is a version ahead which makes it impossible to downgrade. Check for instructions with “rollback” as a keyword.
if not properly "installed in your path” as explained in Installing adb and fastboot on Windows PC or in Installing adb and fastboot on Linux PC,
simply add ./ at the beginning of all your adb or fastboot commands,
it will use the version included into the relative folder (the latest) instead of the one installed on your system (that can be outdated)
So… with the help of some e/os friends it finally worked out. Using e/os on Pixel pro 8… However; unclear in the documentation that the web installer would not work with this model and the instructions are also badly written…
