/e/OS Mail APP keeps on crashing when

…I’m signed on to my phone with my murena account & when SYNC is turned on.

If i add my murena account manual (when SYNC is turned on) it adds automatically same murena account too and start crashing.
When clearing cache app & turning sync off: crashing finally stops (you need to remove the manual added account from the app).

Strange behaviour …
Facing this issue now for months and finally found a work around.

there’s a bugfix coming in /e/ v3.1 within Mail account management, seems to be in the ballpark of your description?

(would be useful for the crash detection / dialog to offer the cache reset in a button after n crashes or just do it)

Edit: there’s also an upstream bug that should affect /e/ too, but I don’t think the forum crashes refer to that, only shows when drafting - [Regression] Crash on screen rotation when composing email · Issue #8606 · thunderbird/thunderbird-android · GitHub

Then let’s see if v3.1 provides a solution.

I do prefer the ‘look & feel’ of /e/OS Mail APP above K-9 (although the latter runs flawless).

can’t hide from UI refreshes I’m afraid. Sooner or later /e/ Mail will rebase to current k9 / thunderbird-android. But it also fixes bugs? :slight_smile:

I’m also having issues as of late, I started a separate thread before coming across this one:

Now when I try to open the mail app it jumps around to various pages. I occasionally get an error “this app has stopped” with an option to close the app.

Other times when I open the app it just disappears without me trying to close it. Super strange, I’ve been using my Fairphone 4 for months now with few issues with the Mail app until recently.

Thunderbird works like a charm though!

Same here. Use Thunderbird. Murena Mail is a fork of K9 mail. K9 joined Thunderbird few years ago and Thunderbird is base on K9.

I faced the same on my FP4. You can turn ‘Sync off’ and addressed is resolved(as a work-around until solution - that’s fine for me)
Alternatively you can use K-9 APP

Out of curiosity, is there an ETA on this that you (or anyone else) are aware of?

Update on this as per my post in another thread. I happened across a workaround while throwing ideas at the wall to try to find the disconnect. Its working now but I’m unclear as to why:
