(Devices marked with an ‘*’ have an issue with FDE encryption which requires format before the OS can be upgraded. This essential means there would be data loss. If we are able to build a A15 build for these devices, the user will have to manual install it and that would require first taking a backup of all data.)

📖 What is OS OTA Upgrade?

Traditional Process:

:inbox_tray: Download correct OS build from supported device list

:inbox_tray: Download stock ROM from vendor site (for some devices)

:floppy_disk: Back up your data

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Install stock ROM, then /e/OS ROM

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Restore backups if needed

OTA Benefits:

:white_check_mark: Simplifies the entire process

:warning: Requires significant development and testing

My Advent’s Calendar to v3.3 :santa_claus:

Pl note the release notes are in their initial stage and may undergo changes.

The release note mention “[FP6] Improve double tap to wake”. Up to v3.2, double tap to wake was not working at all. Does this mean it will be implemented in v3.3?

Of course ; always better to clearly reminding it

We will try to come out with the fixes mentioned but again it still needs a clearance from QA team. Based on their final clearance the release notes will be updated.

It should have been there as it worked fine on 3.3 beta 2 (new option for it in Settings), but on 3.3-RC it doesn’t work anymore and the option is also gone again, sadly… at least on Fairphone 6.

Thank you so much for your hard work. I don’t have experience with Github or any account to open issues myself. Might there be a way, to get in contact with developers to tell them that double tab to wake on FP5 is very unreliable as well? Ether way I’m grateful for all the hard work.

While this remains the best way to share inputs with the developers, you can also join the testing team and check out the improvements of bug fixes coming in.

this is good, hands back initiative.

I ask myself if the forum can be better at elevating issues. Too often I see recurring themes and issues. At times I think it’d be best to not answer and give the impression that a problem is acknowledged in a capacity that matters.

Murena phones that were already sold and the actual ones should have and probably have top priority, but I fear that already in this field there are not enough resources.

At least the “Hearts”-Voting and the thread “Views” counter is already available and could be evaluated if one developer suffers from boredom ;- )

Hello,
recently I asked eventual news about version 3.3.1 which appeared here Epics Roadmap · e · GitLab and got no reply.
Today I am asking eventual news about version 3.2.1 which now appeared in the same place.
Thanks

Now 3.3.1 has disappeared from Epics Roadmap · e · GitLab but 3.2.1 is still there…

v3.2.1 was specific to FP6 only.

Thanks Manoj, indeed I can see it here /e/OS official FP6 download

Are there release notes about it? I don’t see anything here Releases · e / os / 🚀 Releases · GitLab

The reason why we do not have v3.2.1 in the release notes is because it was an internal release specific for FP6 testing.

Thanks for clarifying.
PS As many already said in these forums several times: also for me you are key for my interaction with /e/OS!

Is Android Auto installed in /E/OS with the stub apps, or do they need to be installed separately?

In this guide you can check the process of installing Android Auto on your device. It has a few google app dependencies which we are trying to remove. It does not come installed by default on the OS.

Does this also apply to 3.2 and 3.3? I haven’t been able to use AA since upgrading to e/OS 3.2 on my FP5.
