When will /e/OS be ported to Android 12?

Are there already plans to port /e/OS to Android 12? If so, when will the porting take place and is it already clear which new features will be added?

Keep an eye on the weekly update for news of all upcoming and current developments. When the rollout to 12 is planned there will surely be a notification and probably a list of devices in the order that they will recive the upgrades. Just like previous version upgrades.

Week 23, 2022: Development and Testing Updates

The porting to Android S has as yet not been planned. We should be starting work on it soon As mentioned earlier developers mentioned that the changes required for the upgrade to S should not be much. Will update on these thread when work starts.

LineageOS release is about six months delayed from AOSP.

/e/OS release is about six months delayed from lineageOS.

The following devices from our Supported List will receive an upgraded to /e/OS S
Please note:

• This is the first draft
• There will be additions and deletions from this list
• We expect to release /e/OS S or Android 12 by end of September
• The plan is to release the upgrade build for these devices in sets of 20 (?) on a monthly basis instead of weekly releases
• This will be a manual upgrade for users. Which means the build will not automatically upgrade the existing build to S. Users will have to download and then flash these builds.
• Some of the devices we sell / sold on the Murena shop will get the S OS upgrade via OTA for example the s8

As written : end of septembre if everything going well, please give them some time

Status: Development and Testing

• 70+ devices planned for /e/OS S or Android 12 upgrade.
• Release will be in monthly batches of 20 devices.
• For device details, check this list for the device names
• More devices will be added for upgrade
• Please note we have as yet not opened up the code of /e/OS S to all users as the addition of patches and testing is still in progress. Attempts to build by forking will result in errors.
• ETA : October

Expecting a delay here as recently a couple of developers left the team for their higher studies in the US. Two new team member has been added but there will be a learning process which will delay these releases.

I updated my Oneplus 5 to /e/ OS 1.5.1 S (Android 12) the day before yesterday. Before that I did a factory reset in TWRP and formatted the data partition. (I am radical when changing major versions).

Runs great! Haven’t encountered a single problem yet. Many thanks to LineageOS, LineageOS for MicroG and Murena Team!!

I have a Xiaomi mi mix 2 (chiron).
Previous version was Android 11 R 1.14 (there is no stable version 12 S).
And all is stable. My smartphone is old, but battery is OK
